Hauled one wing out to paint booth today, and hauled home some freshly painted parts. Might look like junk pile but this is Captain Tony's little gold mine. I am hoarding all my painted parts inside of peterbuilt freezer truck. I bought the truck with intentions of hauling fish south. Eventually we will use the truck for its intended purpose but for now it is Cessna 172 plane part storage. Been working hard on this Aurora Sportfishing page. I want not only the Never Enough as the envy of the Ketchikan Charter Fishing world but also the website too. Thank you, Cannons for booking fishing trip on July 8, 2015. Nice to see this calendar filling up. Note to fisherman; call and book now only so many charter boats in Ketchikan.

The Aurora Sportfishing plane is getting work done. The wings are on their way to the paint booth. While hot water pressure washing, I was talking with a friend about my fly out Halibut fishing idea. He told me about another friend who flies out to his halibut hole often, catches one nice halibut in about 10 minutes and flies home. Cannot wait for those days to come. I don't think Alaska Department of Fish & Game has rules against it. Fly out Halibut fishing charters might be drawing that fine line. This is when the lumber rack on my pickup comes in handy. Ordered the new reduction gear for the Never Enough today. You can see it in all its glory in the background of the wing picture.
Thank you to the 3 groups who booked charters today, for the 2015 summer season. Ketchikan has been having very nice weather lately. The entire town is acting like it is summertime already. When the days in Ketchikan get longer, like they have lately, it lift's everyone's spirits. While moving a friends boat and working on Cessna 172 wings, my phone and email was pinging. January and February are the perfect time to book fishing trips in Ketchikan. In Ketchikan you typically cannot walk off the cruise ship and book a charter. Many of us are booked months in advance. Picture of the friends boat that I moved, and a couple of other Ketchikan Charter Boats sitting on the dry land for wintertime. Avid Angler Charters, and Black Flag Charters store their boats at Aurora Sportfishing's upland storage area in Saxman.
Here are a couple pictures of the my new "very used" float plane ramp float. The poor old float has seen better days but will serve a purpose for a little while. Towed it home yesterday from downtown Ketchikan. Carlin Air/Family Air used this float for about 10 years now I will use it for my 172. While towing it from downtown Ketchikan to my home in Saxman, I was marking those hungry King Salmon the whole time. Have been itching to fish lately however getting life ready for summer, when the fish are actually here, is the wisest move. Also surprised a fat little otter down on the beach yesterday. Waited for him to get about half way up the beach then took off after him. When he hit the water he stayed about 20 ft. off shore looking at me like "what the heck, that has never happened!"
